Add dates and prices shares bought prior to pearler

Victoria Steyn
I would like to be able to have the dates and prices of shares owned/bought prior to moving to pearler to factored into to the shares owned so that returns are accurate rather than just calculated from the cost of shares when transferred and bought since joining pearler.

Update / Edit: Net Contributions & Total Earnings Estimate
N
Nicholas Talerico
Currently, Net Contributions & Total Earnings Estimate only include the amounts invested since joining Pearler.
As many users have transferred over from other brokers, these two amounts are most likely incorrect for majority of users.
Both these amounts are great to see on the Pearler dashboard and would be great to keep them there, however they are both useless unless they can be editing to have the correct numbers.
Couple options:
1) Pearler can work through with each member to get the correct numbers (assume this would be time consuming)
2) Pearler could allow this to be a 'editable' number, therefore each user can update their own Net Contributions, therefore Net Contributions & Total Earnings Estimate would be corrected.

Historical data for transferred assets
Ian Moes
For transferred shares, can currently only update the average price paid which updates the cost for the transferred shares.
Need to also be able to add the amount of fees paid, so that the "Earnings minus Fees" on the dashboard can be calculated correctly.
Also need to be able to add in historical Contributions that relate to the transferred shares, so that the Net Contributions figure is accurate for the total holdings.

Share holding price at purchase - not transfer
Lauren Gross
I initially purchased my shares with another broker before transferring over to Pearler. One of my shareholdings is listed as being in the negative because at the time I transferred the shares across to pearler, the share price was higher. However, I know I’m actually in the positive because the shares are worth more than I bought them for.
Would it be possible to input our own initial share purchase price to correct this?

I've got Micro Investments with Pearler, but the Sharesight sync doesn't seem to handle that. If it can't then there needs to be a way to export the data so it can be imported to Sharesight.

Hi all! As per previous comment in relation to limitations, this is the most we are able to do on this topic: https://pearler.com/learn/blog/sharesight-adding-shares
Unless something fundamental changes with technology I will mark this as Complete

We had this planned and did further investigation. I want to explain the problem.
When you transfer shares, we actually don't get your "trade" history. If you bought 100 units of VAS over 12 trades, 8-9 units at a time... when it's transferred, we just see a random 100 units appear in your account. We don't get any historical trade data. That stays with your old broker.
The only way to push data to Sharesight is the trades. Sharesight also does all its math from this. That means to build this feature we'd have to get you to manually enter each trade, including date, amount, ticker etc.
Reality is that if you're going to all that effort, you might as well just enter it manually on Sharesight.
I can't see a path forward where Pearler managing this is very helpful for the time we spend compared to other things, but at the very least we might be able to put together a help article that assist in how to do this.

Hayden Smith: i just came across the issues you have outlined here. My share transfer was simple in that I only ever made one trade so yes I can go into transactions in pearler and update the unit price to match what I bought them at however I just don't like that I can't add a date which I purchased them at. Obviously I still still original data for that trade in sharesight but my only thought is maybe add purchase date option in the transaction edit screen for transferred shares. That would at least help share transfers for people moving shares where there was only ever a single trade.
Hayden Smith
Aidan: Hey Aidan, thanks for the info! What would modifying the purchase date for a trade assist you with on Pearler? (Out of curiosity)

Hayden Smith: I was hoping that the net wealth graph would go back even earlier to that trade date. But thinking about it would it not have the daily share price data for a transferred share to display the gain or loss in the graph would it?
Hayden Smith
Aidan: Yeah, exactly. Right now that graph is a snapshot daily (due to the complexities of historical data). Though we're still looking at that. It might take a little while to tackle the different trade date for single asset, though. We'll keep an eye on it!

Could we get an update on if this request is being considered.
I'd suspect a majority of Pearler users have transferred holdings from other brokers, and without the ability to include the relevant data from transfers means that all of the information in the Net Wealth summary (pictured) is pointless, as it doesn't apply to the full portfolio

Yep and Issuer sponsored holdings too please
