Hi Pearler team,
I wanted to suggest the inclusion of Shariah-compliant (Halal) investment options, particularly ETFs like Shariah-compliant versions of the S&P 500 and global Islamic index trackers.
These types of ETFs follow strict ethical and financial guidelines aligned with Islamic principles avoiding industries like alcohol, gambling, conventional banking, and ensuring companies don’t carry excessive debt or earn substantial interest-based income. They are structured to comply with standards such as those from AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions).
Offering these options would open the door for thousands of faith-conscious investors in Australia not just Muslims who want their portfolios to reflect personal values without sacrificing long-term performance or diversification. Many global Halal ETFs (e.g. HLAL, ISLM, SPUS) are well-performing, transparent, and liquid.
Pearler’s mission around long-term, values-based investing is a natural fit for this category. It would also fill a major gap in the Australian investing space where options remain limited. Even just adding a “Shariah-compliant” filter and a few ETFs would make a huge difference.
Thanks for considering I’d love to see Pearler lead the way in ethical, inclusive investing!
